Excel is seeking a MANUAL MACHINIST in South St. Louis, MO.
Day Shift
Mon-Thurs 6am-3:30pm Fridays 6am-10am. Overtime Optional
Pay is $35.00 per hour.
You MUST supply own hand tools & Toolbox
MUST have experience operating Manual Lathes & Mills.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining manual machinery to produce precision parts. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Use hand tools and power tools to shape, cut, and finish parts
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role
- Proficiency in using manual machining tools and equipment
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques and processes
- Familiarity with CNC machines and Mazatrol programming is a plus
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of tooling selection and use
